
The MTS ESH Department's mission is to ensure that operations at the Nuclear Power Training Unit, Charleston, SC, are carried out safely and in accordance with all applicable environmental and Occupational Safety and Health Regulations. The ESH Engineer responsibilities include personnel training on environmental programs and safety requirements; development of training materials and procedures for environmental and safety program; review of technical work documents for shipboard maintenance; oversight of maintenance nad operations onboard the MTSs to ensure compliance with applicable local, State and Federal Requirements. The ESH Engineer will work closely with Navy and civilian workers and managers and interface directly with the customer's on-site representatives.
Requirements include:
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field with a minimum 3.0 grade point average.
- Minimum of 3 yeras experience in Environmental Safety and Health field managing a broad spectrum of industrial safety and environmental programs.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Ability to qualify as a radiation worker and wear respirators.
